Someone asked me the other day what one thing she could do to help with her money and I told her to BUDGET - BUDGET - BUDGET! However, now that I am thinking about the question, I wish that I had told her to remember that it all belongs to GOD. That is so easy to say and so hard to personalize. I have my moments just like anyone else when it comes to this, but, deep down within me I know that all money flows from His hands and should flow through our hands as He allows us to participate in his work.
When you budget the first - 10 percent should be your giving money, we choose to tithe ours. That is the easy part of the budgeting process before we get into the nuts and bolts of how the rest will be used. I will tell you that David and I have truly learned that you simply cannot out give God. He still amazes us with his faithfulness.
So that would be my first advice -- Budget -- but remember why you have money to budget in the first place.
Now don't get me started on the envelopes!
